Last
night I went to see FC Kopenhagen play against Odense Boldklub at Parken
Stadium. Parken Stadium is known as Denmark's national stadium, where all of
the international games are played. FC Kopenhagen, who is considered a top
european team, has been a Danish powerhouse since its creation in 1992. That
being said, FCK didn't play very well and found themselves losing with 10
minutes left. Soon before time was up though, FCK earned a penalty kick that
they converted. This led to a very exciting last few minutes but the game ended
up in a 1-1 tie. Along with a good game, the atmosphere around and in the
stadium was awesome, there wasn't a huge crowd (14,000) but the stadium was
loud and hearing the die-hard fans was pretty cool. Today I started off with a
30-minute jog before biking to training. Training was a bit different today, as
Jens (the head coach) wasn't there. This meant that Thomas (the assistant
coach) ran practice. Although different, the practice today included a lot of
playing 5v5. During the games we would play in 3-minute increments and in
between the games we would have to do a core exercise. The training was
hard, but it paid off at the end that my team won, as the losing team had to do
extra fitness, which didn't look fun at all.
I see you've embraced the mode of transportation - the bike! Good job acclimating to your environment!
